About

Tour de Nada is a 35mm film log of cycling routes throughout San Francisco and Los Angeles that I’ve created so that anyone who is visiting or living in either city can find themselves a safe cycling route.

While most content on here is based on loops, climbs, and long distance touring we hope to bring you content that digs into modern cycling trends and original cycling stories.

The difficulty rating system that I use is a simple 1-10 with 10 being the most difficult.

Difficulty Rating System

1-5 – anyone who can ride a bike can pretty much do this route. This would be a quick 10-20 mile ride on mostly flat ground.

6-8 – for the more advanced cyclist who races, tours and is looking for fun new routes. These routes range from 30-70 miles with roughly 2,000 – 5,000 feet of climbing.

8-10 – for those that want to suffer and weep. 80+ miles with 5,000+ feet of climbing.

If you have any recommendations for routes or want to submit your own route, feel free to reach out to me at markophotography@gmail.com.

Until next time, good riding and stay lit!
